Marieta is a highly skilled and dedicated Executive Legal Assistant professional with over 31 years of experience in the legal field. Marieta attended Miami Dade College and then completed the Legal Assistant Program at Florida International University in 1997. She is known for her exceptional attention to detail, and skills in drafting legal documents, conducting legal research. Marieta has been Hector A. Pena’s assistant for approximately 15 years. Both her stepchildren are very successful attorneys. Her daughter is a shareholder partner in Miami, FL and her son is “of counsel” in Denver, CO. She is also fluent in English and Spanish.
Before joining Trembly Law, Marieta worked with 2 highly influential attorneys in Miami: Jose Smith, Esq., who founded his own firm in 1983 and after a long legal career currently serves as a Special Magistrate for the City of North Miami. Marieta credits Mr. Smith for believing in her and for pushing her to follow a career in the legal field 31 years ago. The other attorney who shaped Marieta’s love for the legal field was the legendary Murray Sams, Jr., Esq. whose career spanned over 50 years. Mr. Sams graduated from Dartmouth in 1945 and then went on to graduate from Stetson College of Law in 1949. Mr. Sams was truly a force to be reckoned with. Marieta has always been thankful to Mr. Smith, Mr. Sams and Mr. Pena who taught her to be passionate about the legal field and to be committed to every client.
Outside the office, you’ll often find Marieta on the water, indulging in adventures with family & friends or at the some field cheering on her four grandchildren. Marieta believes in the power of work-life balance and enjoying life to the fullest.
