You can represent yourself in a lawsuit if you're sued individually, but it's not recommended. However, if your corporation or LLC is sued, you must hire an attorney—business entities cannot represent themselves. This rule applies in Florida and likely all 50 states. No exceptions.

We charge a consultation fee to ensure mutual commitment, as we take your legal needs seriously. This fee covers time, resources, and begins our relationship, ensuring we work solely for you. It can also be applied to your retainer. Protect your business—contact us today!

The purpose of this blog is to answer one of the most common questions we get asked when new potential clients reach out to us for the first time.

We are often asked about how our consultations work, so that’s what we’d like to talk about today. During your consultation, you get 45 minutes of uninterrupted time scheduled with one of our attorneys, with a proposed agenda to make the best of everyone’s time. We do charge an initial consultation fee, as our attorney is dedicating this time to solely focus on your matter.

In preparation for your consultation, we’ll ask a few questions about what you’ve experienced and go over a few housekeeping items to make sure you understand every step of the process and that we have all the information needed to proceed.

The consultation will give us some context for us to get the big picture and understanding of what’s going on, and for both parties to get to know each other. Our attorneys can give

you the best legal guidance and advice moving forward.

We take the possibility of helping your business seriously, because we believe in protecting the economy, one business at a time. If you don’t take your legal matters into serious consideration from the start, it may cost you more in the long run – it can even cost you your business. We even have our Danger Zone Program to help you proactively prevent disputes.
