Irama Valdes, Esq.

Pod Leader | Estate Planning, Probate & Guardianship

Irama Valdes brings over 15 years of legal experience to her practice, with a focused concentration in estate planning, probate administration, guardianship, and related litigation. A Miami native and bilingual attorney fluent in English and Spanish, Irama has built her career around helping individuals and families navigate some of life’s most significant – and most sensitive – legal transitions with clarity, confidence, and a trusted advocate at their side.

Irama began her legal career with a foundation that most attorneys never get: direct experience inside the Miami-Dade County Probate & Guardianship Division of the 11th Judicial Circuit Court, where she served as Case Manager. That early exposure to how cases move through the court system gave her an insider’s understanding of probate and guardianship proceedings that she draws on every day for her clients. She went on to serve as an Associate Attorney at Barreto & Romero, P.A., where she managed probate and guardianship matters from inception through distribution, handled Cuban Heir cases, served as second chair in litigation, and developed the deep case management skills that define her practice today. She founded her own firm in 2016 and has been leading and growing it ever since.

Irama earned her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law, where she logged over 200 pro bono hours and was recognized for her outstanding public service, a commitment to giving back that has continued throughout her career. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, Cum Laude, from Florida International University, and an Associate of Arts from Miami Dade College. That background in communication has made her a more effective counselor and someone who knows how to take complex legal matters and explain them in plain, human terms.

Her professional accomplishments speak to the respect she has earned in the legal community. Irama has been recognized as a Thomson Reuters Super Lawyer every year since 2025 and as a Rising Star from 2016 through 2024. She was named Miami Dade’s Best in Estate Law — Gold in 2023 and Silver in 2024. She currently serves as Incoming Chair of the Miami Dade Bar’s Probate and Guardianship Committee for 2026–2027, as Group Leader of the Provisors Estate & Succession Planning Affinity Group, and as a Board Member of the Guardianship Program of Miami-Dade — among many other leadership roles across the legal and professional community.

Irama’s commitment to service extends well beyond the courtroom. She has sponsored female entrepreneurs through Women for Success, funded law school scholarships for clerks and students, participated in Wills on Wheels to provide estate planning documents to low-income community members, and provided pro bono representation in guardianship and estate matters for clients who needed an advocate and had no one else.

She serves clients throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe counties, and brings the same level of care and attention to every matter she handles, regardless of size or complexity.
