Miami, Florida (Summer, 2018) — In addition to the jury trial won by the Trembly Law litigation team in April of 2018 before Judge Rodney Smith in Miami-Dade Circuit Court, the litigation team has also had two other trial victories.
In March of 2018, the Trembly Law team of Partner Christian E. Rodriguez and David E. Wolff secured a directed verdict during a bench trial in the defense against Repeat Violence and Stalking Injunction before Judge Donald “DJ” Cannava in Miami-Dade County Court. The case stemmed from a dispute between two business owners—one of whom was Trembly Law Firm’s client. In an attempt to gain leverage over ongoing the business disputes, petitioner filed a temporary domestic violence injunction against Trembly Law Firm’s client, which was dissolved. Petitioner then amended the petition to an injunction for Repeat Violence and Stalking. At the final hearing, the team vigorously and relentlessly defended the client, cross-examined the petitioner’s witnesses, and obtained a directed verdict in favor of Trembly Law Firm’s client.
Last, but not least, in July 2018, the team won another jury trial before Judge Thomas Rebull in Miami-Dade Circuit Court. The Firm’s client had purchased a business with her life savings, and her boyfriend was supposed to reimburse her half of the money in return for 50% of the business. Instead, the boyfriend took control of the business and refused to pay. However, approximately three years later, Trembly Law Firm’s litigation team brought this case before a jury to vindicate the client. After approximately two days of trial, the jury came back with a verdict for the Firm’s client in an amount above what was asked.
